Dr. Wolfgang Schaden

Dr. Wolfgang Schaden is a specialist in trauma surgery and sports medicine and a pioneer of medical shockwave technology. At the AUVA Trauma Centre Meidling in Vienna he was senior surgeon and chief of the Department of Shockwave Therapy.

He gave the first shockwave treatment for impaired bone healing in 1993, and the first for impaired wound healing in 2003. He is an Honorary Fellow of ISMST and was President of DIGEST in 2014–15. He has been an internationally certified shockwave trainer since 2000, and has written about 50 publications and book contributions. He speaks English and French.
