Prof. Dr. Carlos Leal is an orthopaedist from Universidad el Bosque in Bogotá, with a postdoctoral fellowship in biomechanics and research at Harvard University. He is a full professor of the postgraduate programme in orthopaedics and traumatology at Universidad el Bosque, and director of the cartilage restoration clinic and the Fenway Medical regenerative orthopaedics centre in Bogotá.
His work focuses on the knee, sports medicine, shockwave therapy and stem cells. He is a former president and the Scientific Secretary of ISMST, President of HISPAMEF, Vice President of SOCARTD, and a founding member of ONLAT and of the Colombian shockwave society OCC.
